My friend started a fall fashion challenge on her blog My Clever Disguise. Now, I’m definitely no fashion blogger, but I thought this was a great opportunity for me to step up my fashion game. It’s easy to fall into a rut, especially when you’re plus-size. But, one cannot live in yoga pants alone. So, let’s get started with Step 1.
“Describe yourself and your lifestyle. If you have a job that requires a certain type of clothing, that is going to affect your choices. Give us an idea of what is important to you when it comes to clothing. You can also describe your personal taste.”
I work in a small, independent pet store, where the dress code is very casual. Since there is some light cleaning and lifting involved, I don’t want to wear anything too fussy that will get in the way. That said, I want to get away from the jeans and t-shirt uniform. I find that when I’m dressed nicer, I feel better. So, what I’m looking for is t-shirt alternatives. Light, cotton tops that are comfortable and easy to throw on, but look more put together than a boxy t-shirt.
I do pretty well in obvious dressing up situations, like going out to a nice dinner. But, one thing I want to work on is accessorizing. I tend to forget to put any on, or am not sure how to put a look together.
