For my monthly obsessions posts, I try to have a good variety of items from different categories. But, this month nearly all my favorites are of the cosmetic variety. So, if that’s not your thing, sorry!
I’ve used Revlon ColorStay foundation for a few years. But, lately I’ve been all about BB Cream for its ease of use and all-in-one properties. Since I had events coming up recently for which I wanted a really flawless complexion, I pulled out the ColorStay again. And I rediscovered how much I loved it!
I wore it on Saturday for my BFF’s wedding and after 12+ hours of wear (and a decent amount of sweating) I still had to scrub with my makeup wipe to get it all off.
So, while I am interested in trying some high-end BB creams since I haven’t found one I loved, I see no reason to spend more on foundation since Revlon really does everything I could want.
With spring and summer approaching, I wanted to revisit cream blush. I do own one, but it’s super frosty and as a result I don’t really ever use it. I decided to try this Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush in the shade Pinched. And it quickly became a staple.
It’s a gorgeous shade of peach/pink with just a hint of golden shimmer that barely transfers to the skin (a plus in my book). The colors look a bit intense in the pots, but they are more sheer when you apply. The texture is super creamy. I hate, HATE, applying stuff with my fingers – especially cheek products. I feel like I end up with a round blob of color. But, this blush blends out so easily and without any effort.
I was at CVS last month buying a Wet n Wild gel liner to try out. Wet n Wild products were B1G1 50% off, so I figured I might as well pick out something else to try. I ended up going with this Color Icon Bronzer in the shade Reserve Your Cabana. I’m not sure why they put this color in with the bronzer collection, since clearly it isn’t. But no matter, I bought it to use as a highlighter.
Now, I love highlighter. It’s probably one of my favorite makeup discoveries since really getting into it a few years ago. But, I generally feel that highlighters are a little too much for daytime. So I have been interested in finding a more subtle highlight that I could wear during the day – and this is the ticket.
Plus, it’s only around $3 and the package is huge. I’m pretty sure I’m going to be using this thing for the rest of my life.
Finally, for my non-cosmetic obsession – Pirate’s Booty. I had heard of these but never tried them. But, Costco had a gigantic bag and it was on sale, so it seemed like the perfect time to try. They’re great! Kind of like a healthier, fancier Cheeto’s Puff.
The dogs love them too. I don’t normally share people food with them, but the other day I was attempting to carry a big handful of Booty upstairs to my room and was dropping them as I went. I could hear my two shadows behind me crunching away. Now, they stare at me obsessively when I’m eating it.
That’s it for March, what are you obsessing this month?
