St. Louis Earth Day Festival 2014
The predicted rain held off long enough to have another beautiful Earth Day festival here in St. Louis. Held each year the week of Earth Day, the festival showcases everything green the city has to offer.
The festival is held at the Muny Theater in Forest Park. Until I took this picture and noticed the engraving, I never knew that Muny was short for Municipal Theater. Fun fact about the Muny – the last 9 rows of seats are free and first come first serve. Some of my first Broadway shows were seen from the Muny free seats with my grandma.
This girl was dressed as a carnivorous plant. Her gardener combed her hair with a hand rake.
One of the coolest parts of the Earth Day Festival is the valet bike parking provided by Trailnet. Since I live across the river, it’s not exactly feasible to ride my bike to the event. One year we were able to utilize the valet since there was a Trailnet ride scheduled for the same day. We parked in another area in Forest Park, participated in the ride and rode our bikes to the festival afterwards, avoiding the crazy parking situation near the Muny.

There were so many dogs at the festival this year, and many of them were riding in style.
Did you celebrate Earth Day this year?
