Monthly Obsessions: April 2015

It’s been a while since I’ve had a Monthly Obsessions post, but I have a great collection for you for April! Let’s get to it.

MAC Viva Glam Miley CyrusI have been really and truly obsessed with this MAC Viva Glam Miley lipstick and lipglass. I had been wanting to try a MAC lipstick for years, but never bit the bullet. When I saw the swatches of the Viva Glam Miley on Xsparkage’s blog I knew I had found the one. I happen to love obnoxiously bright pink lips and the blue-tone of this one suited my complexion perfectly. The lipstick is a wonderful creamy texture and it lasts forever!

I often wear it alone, but the ultra glittery lipglass takes it over the top. I’ve never seen so much glitter and it’s microscopic so you just see sparkle and not chunks of glitter. I do have to avoid wearing it if I’m going to be eating though, otherwise the glitter gets all over my food and that’s kind of gross to think about ingesting.

Loreal Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing BalmEven though I use semi-permanent dye to color my hair, I have noticed it’s been a bit drier since I’ve been coloring it consistently. I’ve tried a few leave-in or deep conditioners and none of them really wowed me. I bought this L’Oreal Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm (long enough name??) on a whim because I had coupons and it was on sale at CVS.

I actually bought it thinking it was a leave-in and was disappointed when I realized it was meant to be used in the shower and rinsed out. I was so happy I kept it though after using it the first time. The consistency is like butter and it really made a difference instantly in how my hair felt. I’ve been using about once a week since and it keeps away any “crispiness” I start to feel.

Whimzees AlligatorsPetsmart recently had an amazing sale on dental chews so I loaded up on these Whimzees Alligator Dental Treats for Pug and Molly. They’ve both been loving them, but especially Pug. If you follow me on Snapchat (thispuglife) you’ll see Pug enjoying “gator time” multiple times per week. Besides being adorable, Whimzees have a great shape for scraping teeth and stimulating gums and are limited ingredient and super healthy!

Mantra Band Soul SistersMy BFF recently gifted me with this bracelet and introduced me to the MantraBand. They’re simple cuff bracelets stamped with inspirational sayings. They come in silver, gold and rose gold and look beautiful stacked. This is my only one so far, but I have several that are now on my wish list.

It may sound hokey, but I honestly love to slip this on when I’m feeling not-so-great and looking down and thinking about my “soul sister” and her support really does help get me through the rough times.

Art of Tea Green Pomegranate

I got an electric tea kettle and loose-leaf tea maker for Christmas and I’ve been obsessed with loose-leaf iced tea ever since. I’ve been drinking this green pomegranate tea by Art of Tea for a while because a local cafe serves it, but I recently bought a couple of ounces to have at home and my consumption has ratcheted up. It’s equally delicious plain or lightly sweetened.
