The Earth Day Festival in Forest Park is one of my favorite events each year. I mention every year that you don’t have to be full-on crunchy to enjoy this event, there really is something for everyone! There is awesome food and drink, pet adoptions, tons of info for people interested in gardening and wildlife and state and local utilities get to show off their green initiatives. And naturally, because it’s pet friendly I had to take a ton of pictures of the animals in attendance.
I had to donate a dollar to give Jelly Belly a rub! Jelly Belly is available for adoption through Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
This handsome fella is Waylan and he’s available for adoption too.
I thought it was funny the Muny has this huge beehive on it’s roof, because bees were a big topic at this year’s festival! I plan on doing more research along with what I learned for a blog post all about how you can attract and build a comfortable habitat for ever important pollinator bees.
It should come as no surprise that I found the pugs! I’ve never seen more dogs at the festival and it’s not hard to imagine why. The weather was absolutely perfect – sunny and mid-60s. I thought of bringing Pug, but we were riding a shuttle and I didn’t know if pets were allowed. I found out they are, so now I know for next year!
