Monthly Obsessions: June 2016

Another month, another round of monthly obsessions. Here’s what I’ve been loving lately!

Pokemon GoCertainly my biggest obsession the past month, along with everyone else, has been Pokemon Go. I’m a total noob and haven’t played the games in the past. But this version looked fun and it was free so I decided to try it out. And I quickly became obsessed. Pokemon Go Library

I’m so grateful I opted to have my foot surgery back in May because it’s allowed me to be more active, and this game has motivated me to be as well.

I’m actually not sure why I never played the games in the past because I definitely played similar games. Even though they’re quite different I’m tempted to dig out my old Nintendo DS and give them a try.

For some reason I had never heard of Turn: Washington’s Spies until it hit Netflix and it already had aired two seasons. And a sign of a good show, in my opinion, is when you binge watch it and then suffer through watching it as it airs rather than wait for a new season to be on Netflix.

If you’re a fan of historical fiction, you must check it out. While they’ve obviously taken some dramatic liberties, as is often the case, truth is stranger than fiction. It’s really cool to see a show set in this period. Plus, young George Washington!

V8 Energy

As a chronic insomniac who hates the taste of most energy drinks, I’m always on the lookout for new ones to try. While Guayaki Yerba Mate is still my holy grail, it’s pricey and not available at many stores. I came across this V8 Energy at Aldi for under 3 bucks for a 6-pack, so I gave it a whirl.

The Pomegranate Blueberry was really tasty (tasted like juice, not energy drink) and provides a full serving of fruits/vegetables with 80mg of caffeine (almost as much as a cup of coffee). So it’s not a huge jolt of caffeine but it provides a little boost, is relatively health and only 50 calories.

MAMBI Happy Planner Fresh FloralAnd last but certainly not least is my new Happy Planner! I switched to this last month after using my Plan Ahead Organizer for the past two years. I am loving the larger size and the vertical layout, while still being able to easily add and remove pages from the disk system.

I’ve bought a few accessories for it and there are several more I’d like to get. I just really love the whole Happy Planner line of planner goodies and the fact that they offer the occasional free printable on their blog.

Happy Planner Avery Label Stickers

I’m having fun creating some new printables and stickers for my new setup as well. The first was doctor’s appointment labels on Avery labels which I posted here.

That’s it for July. What have you been obsessing over this month?
