Hydrate in Style with a PetSafe Drinkwell Sedona Fountain (Giveaway)
Every July PetSafe® Brand hosts Pet Hydration Month to educate pet parents about the importance of hydration. Unlike humans, dogs and cats bodies are made up of 80% water! Proper hydration helps prevent urinary tract infections, aids with energy levels and temperature regulation, and can speed recovery times after illness or injury.
A couple of years ago we reviewed the PetSafe Brand Avalon fountain, and have been using (and loving) it ever since. Fresh, running water encourages your pet to drink (especially cats) and I can attest that when I switched to a fountain two years ago my dogs’ water intake increased!
This time around I chose the Drinkwell® Sedona fountain because it has a larger capacity (100 ounces), is quieter, and it’s just quite stylish. And although my pugs had no problem drinking out of the Avalon, the larger opening on the Sedona fountain makes it even easier for flat-faced breeds.
Setup takes just a few minutes to assemble the filter and get everything running. The dual filter consists of a foam surround which captures hair and debris (you’d be shocked how much dog hair ends up in their water) and the charcoal filter inside.
Because of the design, the Sedona fountain is whisper quiet while running – no trickling. The clear bowl is impact-resistant plastic and the tower is ceramic, both of which are dishwasher safe.
Honestly, besides the silent function, my favorite thing about the Sedona fountain is being able to see the dogs drinking through the clear bowl. It’s kind of funny and fascinating at the same time (but I may just be easily amused).
Since we’re well into the muggy months here in the midwest, the dogs are drinking even more and I’m enjoying the larger capacity and not having to refill it as often.
If you’re experiencing hot temps and are concerned your pets may become dehydrated, here are the signs to look for:
- Vomiting and/or diarrhea
- Lack of energy
- Excessive and ongoing panting
- Loss of appetite
- Sunken, dry eyes
- Dry and sticky gums
- Loss of skin elasticity (when pulled or moved, the skin will not go back to its original place)
And if you’d like your dog to hydrate in style like Pug and Pugs (and Molly), PetSafe Brand is giving away a Sedona fountain to one lucky reader! The giveaway will run for 2 weeks and is open to U.S. residents 18 and over. Full terms and conditions in the Rafflecopter widget.

💙 this post! I’ve been thinking about getting Phoebe a fountain! She has an automatic feeder but the bottom half gets so disgusting and it’s kind of hard to clean. I like that the Sedona fountain is clear, holds lots of water, appears easy to clean, and I think Phoebe would really enjoy it.

We have been using a fountain for 2 years and really enjoy it, but the Sedona is just SO beautiful!

Great post per usual! I have been looking into a fountain. When Sabrina was alive, we couldn’t have anything like this because she just refused to drink but I think the others may be open to it!

I keep their bowls filled with refrigerated filtered water & give them ice cubes, ice cream or cold fruit.

My dog loves ice chips so I give him them in addition to his usual water bowl and I add water to my cat’s wet food since he has no interest in drinking water.

We like to stay hydrated with nice cold water and sometimes an ice cube to play with. We try to stay inside as much as possible and only short trips outdoors during the heat of the day.

My pets have a regular bowl for their water but I make sure to replace their water as much as I can. I also add ice so their water can stay cool as much as possible! I am looking forward to get a water fountain for my pets!

My furbaby cools off by laying directly on the air vent. She is an indoor only cat so the only time she gets overheated is when a moth flies in. 😉
