Pug Reviews: Zuke’s Z-Bones + Giveaway {CLOSED}
I’m been saving this post for my 1-year blogversary so that it could coincide with my very first giveaway. To say I’m excited is an understatement!
Zuke’s Z-Bones is one of the first things I tried when I started working at my job at the pet store, because Pug and Molly both tend to have gnarly breath. I especially worry about keeping Pug’s teeth clean because he didn’t come to me with great teeth, and he’s too old to risk putting him under sedation for a deep clean.
I chose the Clean Carrot Crunch flavor for Pug, since he loves baby carrots. I got Clean Cherry Berry for Molly because she is picky, and I thought it would entice her.
These aren’t a super long-lasting chew, but they do keep my dogs busy for 20-30 minutes. All the Z-Bone flavors are corn and grain free and made in the USA. Plus, all the ingredients are recognizable and pronounceable (Yes, I’ve become one of those people since I started working at a healthy pet store. I will admit I’m kind of a dog food snob now. )
Now, for the good stuff. The giveaway! This isn’t sponsored or endorsed by Zuke’s, I’m just a fan and bought them myself to give away in celebration of my 1 year blogversary. One winner will receive the following Zuke’s Z-Bones:
1- Large Clean Apple Crisp Z-Bone
1- Regular Clean Cherry Berry Z-Bone
1- Mini Clean Carrot Crunch Z-Bone
1- Mini Clean Apple Crisp Z-Bone
1- Mini Clean Cherry Berry Z-Bone
The giveaway will be open to U.S. residents ages 18 and over. Check out the terms and conditions below for all the details.

We found these bones a couple of years ago and so glad we did. We like them much better than the Greenies. Our Boston’s give the zbones a real workout 🙂

Bully sticks! But z bones are also a favorite in our house!

My dog’s favorite treat by far has been FreshPet’s Turkey Bacon. They go nuts for it! They also go crazy for greenies, but more because they don’t get them very often. I’ve never tried these bones (have wanted to!) but I have recently started using Zuke’s Mini Naturals treats and they’re great, so I’ll have to try these too. I too have an older dog with *horrible* breath that the vet doesn’t want to risk putting under anesthesia due to age and health issues. I think the berry chew would be perfect for her.

My dog loves just about anything, considering he’s a beagle, but he loves ice cubes, his Dentastix treats, bully sticks, etc. Not many veggies though!

We adopted Artie last April and he loves anything cheese or peanut butter. He loves apples with a bit of peanut butter on them too. Not found much he will not eat.

Even better than dog bones , my dogs absolute favorite treats and real fruits and vegetables…show them a tomato and they will choose it every time, even over the tastiest meat treats…they love fresh tomatoes and when it’s that time of the year even have their own cherry tomato bushes that they pick their own tomatoes from….and baby carrots and peeled apples and even lettuce, my dogs go crazy for fruits and vegetables….next they love all things peanut butter and they adore red barn chews… I don’t use greenies, but I think that my dogs would love these zukes bones because of the flavors….apple, carrot and cherry….yum fruit and vegetable….they would love them.. I would have to break the big one in half so everyone could try it….I have eight dogs including three rescues but only six would get these cause the one and only big dog can’t have stuff like this cause he tries to swallow whole without chewing and another is food sensitive, so those two would get their special bones and everyone else would try zukes! Thank you

Pug too! I buy baby carrots just for him, but he’s never turned down any veggie I’ve ever offered him. During the summer when I have my garden I share by cherry tomatoes with him.
March 10, 2013 @ 2:11 pm
Bacon treats 🙂
March 10, 2013 @ 8:16 pm
My dog likes everything
March 11, 2013 @ 12:57 pm
My four dogs will eat just about any snack they can get! They really like the TBones and Zukes soft treats.
March 11, 2013 @ 10:23 pm
My dogs will eat just about anything! They really love these yucky looking animal part things we get from a local pet store. Hooves and stuff, haha.
March 12, 2013 @ 5:04 pm
Oh yes, we sell all kinds of those at my work. Knee caps, trachea, bully sticks. The worst part is opening a new box of them. The smell hits you like a brick!
March 12, 2013 @ 12:58 am
My pup loves beggin stripes!
March 12, 2013 @ 5:03 pm
I stick to healthier snacks since that’s what we sell at work, but the dogs definitely don’t mind the occasional bag of “bacons” as I call them. 😉
March 12, 2013 @ 2:46 pm
I try to make my granddogs (a pug, a tug and two beagles) treats since I am wary of most commercial brands.
March 12, 2013 @ 5:02 pm
Great idea! I make treats at work, so I don’t have the inclination to make any more at home.
March 12, 2013 @ 2:51 pm
These would be nice to try — my pugs have some pretty gnarly breath. I’ve tried alot of things, and most of them my pug Kylie won’t touch! Shes getting older now (11ish) and so I’m more hesitant now about taking her in for a cleaning with the vet. I’m going to have to take a look around the local pet store to see if I can find these and try out!
March 12, 2013 @ 5:01 pm
Poor pugs with their mushed teeth. It’s a recipe for disaster! I’ve also been experimenting with adding some raw food to their diet because it’s supposed to be good for their teeth. I might do a post about it after I’ve had them on it a little longer.
March 12, 2013 @ 4:33 pm
Aw. No Canada?
March 12, 2013 @ 4:59 pm
Sorry! I wanted to include you, but when I looked at shipping options it was way more than what the prize was actually worth to ship it. 🙁
March 12, 2013 @ 7:43 pm
Chubbs sent me!

My puggy girl Lily loves greenies… would love to try these and see if she enjoys them, too!
